, volunteered as a Eucharistic minister to take Communion to homebound Catholics. After receiving the gift of an Honor Flight guardianship from his family for his 75th birthday, he founded Cedar County Honor Flight. Those efforts sent 65 Cedar County veterans and guardians on an Honor Flight in 2011. He was honored to be the Grand Marshal in this year's Tipton 4th of July Parade. Rod proudly carried the nickname of Rotten for his abilities on the golf course. Able to fix anything, he had a Dubby Will Do It handy-man service. Rod was the patriarch of a family that was the shining example of how two families can become one. Survivors include the love of his life, his wife Jerri; children, Julie (Brad) Wuertz, Bettendorf; Jennifer (John) DeWitt, Moline; Rod (Jana) Daebelliehn, Folsom, Calif.; Jon (Susan) Waddell, Davenport; and Jessica Daebelliehn, Tipton; 12 grandchildren and one great-grandson.
