Robert Eugene Roelf, 92, of Allison, Iowa, passed away Saturday, November 19, 2016, at his home in Allison. He was born on December 17, 1923, in Allison, to Henry and Ella (Kammeyer) Roelf.
Bob graduated from Allison High School and attended the University of Alabama for one year. He served his country in the United States Marines during WWII as a mechanic. Bob was united in marriage to Dorothy Pauline Buroker on February 22, 1948, in Allison. He worked for the United States Post Office as a rural mail carrier for thirty-five years, retiring in 1988.
Bob was a member of the Allison Amvets, the Rural Mail Carriers Retirees, the Butler County Farm Bureau, and was a lifetime member of the Allison Congregational Church. He volunteered for many years at the Butler County Fair and was a volunteer ambulance driver in Allison for thirteen years. Bob enjoyed woodworking, reading, fishing, tending to his rose garden and most of all spending time with his family.

great-grandchildren, along with numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, five sisters and two brothers.
