Katheryn Faye McCoy, daughter of Solomon and Margret (Veach) Corwin, was born on March 6, 1928 in Gordon, Nebraska. She passed away on Tuesday, December 13, 2016 at her home in Shenandoah, Iowa at the age of 88 years, 9 months and 7 days.
Katheryn's early years were spent in Tarkio, Missouri. She went to school in Tarkio and graduated from Tarkio High School.
On April 16, 1945 she was united in marriage to Garlen L. McCoy in Shenandoah, Iowa. They resided in Shenandoah. She worked for Mount Arbor Nursey, cleaned doctors offices, May Seed and Nursery and the Shenandoah Community Schools retiring in 2007.
Katheryn was a member of the Red Hats and West Page Community Center. She loved volunteering at the West Page Center for over 20 years and spending time with her family and friends.
Katheryn was preceded in death by her husband Garlen, mother Margret, father Solomon, sister Mildred, brothers Dale, Lester and Darrell.
Katheryn is survived by her four children; Garlen McCoy and wife Marilyn of Shenandoah, Mary McCoy of Fonda, Iowa, Janice Otten and husband John of Crete, Nebraska and Pam Bond and husband Jim of Smithstation, Alabama, six grandchildren, 16 great-grandchi...[more]
en and nine great-great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
Private family burial of cremains will be held at a later date at Rose Hill Cemetery in Shenandoah.
