BATAVIA, N.Y. - Raymond Paul Jobe, lifelong resident of Keokuk, peacefully passed away on Dec. 4, 2016, in Batavia, N.Y.
He was born on March 27, 1913, to Warry Brent Jobe and Daisy Mae Frakes, and attended Keokuk High School.
In 1934, he married the love of his life, Marjorie Lee Kaiser in Carthage, Ill., with whom he had three daughters, Shirley Ann Hall, Nancy Lee Karle and Sallie Elaine Herring.
He retired from Union Electric after 31 years as senior turbine operating engineer, and was a member of AFL-CIO Local 148.
Throughout his life, he enjoyed remodeling old homes, helping family with repair jobs, refinishing furniture, and gardening. For many years, he had been a devout member of the First Baptist Church, and previously of the Gospel Center, where he served as deacon, teacher and lay leader.
He was preceded in death by his dear wife, Marjorie; two daughters, Shirley and Nancy; three brothers, Edward, Leonard and Ralph; four sisters, Pansy Ervin, Ruby Williams, Mildred Cale and Bernice Gable; and two grandchildren.
He is survived by his daughter, Sallie E. Herring; brother, Donald; 10 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.
