A gathering of friends and family will be 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 11, at Grandon Funeral and Cremation Care 414 Lincoln Way in Ames, with an 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 12, Mass of Christian Burial at St. Cecilia Catholic Church, 2900 Hoover Ave. in Ames. Burial will be at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Alta Vista, Iowa on January 13th. Kim is survived by his siblings: Ron (Laura) Frantzen, Sharon (Charlie) Weber all of Ames, Dave Frantzen of Waukee, Diane (Tim) Wheeler of Jacksonville, FL, Judy Frantzen of Loveland, CO, Joe (Kim) Frantzen of Lincoln, NE, and Jerry Frantzen of Jacksonville, FL; many nieces and nephews and a large extended family. Kim was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Denny, and a niece, Amy Weber. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the Mary Greeley Medical Center Foundation of Ames, Iowa. The family would like to especially thank the doctors, nursing staff, respiratory therapists and all other specialties at Mary Greeley for their devoted care of Kim during his illness.
