Sallie Mae Brooks was born in Meriwether County, Georgia on August 8, 1920. She was united in Holy Matrimony to the late Elmore Brooks, Jr. and to this union; they were blessed with six children; two preceded her in death.
In the afternoon of February 24, 2010, the Lord called her home to be at rest. Sallie joined Springfield Baptist Church at an early age and she remained faithful until her health declined.
She leaves to cherish her memory, three daughters; Lottie Davis, Atlanta, Regina (Morris) Hunter, Newnan, and Elizabeth Brooks, Covington, GA, one son; Randall Brooks, LaGrange, seven grandchildren; Harold Williams, Lester Williams, Carol Williams, Salisia Butler, Teresa Brooks, Antonio Henry, and Daphne Stenson, (one grandchild preceded her in death), thirteen great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, two nieces, three nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.
