James H. Sears, 76, of Englewood, Florida passed away Saturday, March 5, 2016. He was born March 31, 1939 on Harsens Island, Michigan and has been a beloved member of Englewood for the past fifty years. Jim was a wildlife artist who specialized in wood and bronze sculptures, winning ribbons at art shows throughout the country. We will remember Jim for his artistic talent, his happy go lucky nature and his love for life. Jim is survived by his wife, Claire; children, Chrissy, Paul, James, Laurie, and Michelle and his grandchildren. He was proceeded in death by his mother and father, 7 brothers and sisters, and he has one surviving sister, Ruth. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the James Sears Memorial Fund at Englewood Bank, 1111 S. McCall Road., Englewood Florida 34223. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Thursday, March 31, 2016, from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. With a Celebration of Life at 4:00 p.m. at Englewood United Methodist Church. [more]
