Robert W Abbott

Born March 25, 1929 in Nutley, NJ. Died November 26, 2010, at the Donald T. Jacobson Veterans Nursing Home in Port Charlotte, FL. Parents (deceased): Arthur and Marion Abbott. Loving husband of Audrey (Schlack) for 60 years and proud father of six children, Gail (Peter), Peggy, Robert Jr. (Jenny), Mark (Kären), Glenn (Rosemarie) and Janice (Richard). Grandsons: Andrew, Timothy, and John Abbott. Lt. Abbott worked for the Port of New York New Jersey Authority from 1956-1977, and graduated from Rutgers University with a BS degree in criminology in 1977. Upon retirement he rejoined the US Navy where he received numerous honors and retired as a Senior Chief in 1989. Mr. Abbott was active in his churches in East Brunswick, NJ, Bristol, NH and the Lutheran Church of the Cross in Port Charlotte, FL. Visitation Monday, December 6, 2010 from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m., service time at Lutheran Church of the Cross 2300 Luther Road. Punta Gorda, Florida. Officiated by Rev. Kenneth P.
