Leona H. Carter 93 of Port Charlotte, Florida died on September 10, 2010 in Port Charlotte Florida She was born on November 6, 1916 in Newport, Vermont the daughter of Donald Mayo and Mary Reagan Mayo. Leona came to Port Charlotte, Florida from Marlboro, Massachusetts in late 1950, she was the former owner of Carter florist. Leona was catholic by faith. Survivors include her 2 daughters, Dorothy Giles of Naples, Florida and Joan Nix of Ocala, Florida; her 3 sons, Donald Carter and Sumner Carter Jr. both of Port Charlotte, Florida, and Raymond Carter of Hawaii also 26 Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by Jean Thomas and Roy Carter. Visitation Wednesday, September 15, 2010 from 6 p.m. until 8: 00 p.m. at Kays- Ponger & Uselton Funeral Home 2405 Harbor Blvd. Port Charlotte, Florida. Funeral Services Thursday, September 16, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at Kays-Ponger & Uselton Funeral Home, 2405 Harbor Blvd. Port Charlotte.
