Mattie Bertha Porter

Mattie Kirkland Porter, 86, of Punta Gorda, FL, died May 15, 2007. She was born February 3, 1921 in Centerhill, FL. She moved to Punta Gorda as a child, and lived here all her life. She was a homemaker. Mattie is survived by her husband of 52 years, Scotty Porter of Punta Gorda, FL; son, Gerald Linda Edwards of Punta Gorda, FL; step-daughter, Marie Jackson of Marianna, FL; daughter-in-laws, Fay Suntag of Troy, AL and Lillie Edwards of Moorhead, NC; 11 grandchildren, many great grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Ruby Kirkland of Punta Gorda, FL. She was pre deceased by her sons, Jack and Sam Edwards. Visitation will be from 2:00 pm till 4:00 pm, Sunday May 20, 2007 at the Kays-Ponger Funeral Home, 635 E Marion Ave, Punta Gorda, FL. A Graveside Service will be held 10:00 am, Monday, at the Indian Springs Cemetery with Pastor Phil Keaton officiating. [more]
