Stanley T. Gomiela

Stanley T. Gomiela, 85 of Port Charlotte, passed away Sunday, September 30, 2007. Stanley was born on November 3, 1921 in Jamaica Queens, New York the son of John and Marianne Nowaski Gomeila. After Stanley graduated high school he joined the United States Army, where he was a seargent in the 63rd Infantry Division during WW II. Stanley worked for 20 years for the New York City Sanitaion Department, until he moved down here from Queens, New York in 1977. <br>Stanley is survived by: 5 sons; Thomas Gomiela, Stanley Jr. Gomiela, James Geralynn Gomiela, Edward Gomiela, Robert Gomiela, 3 daughters; Kathie Ray Weir, Caroline Cuomo, Barbara Driscoll, Sister; Josephine Burnett, 13 grandchildren and Kathleen M. Gomiela. <br>A visitation will be held November 2, 2007 at the Kays-Ponger Funeral Home, Port Charlotte Chapel from 9-11 A.M.<br>A service will follow at the St. Maximillion Catholic Church.<br>In lieu of flowers please direct donations toward the Tidewell Hopsice and Palliative Care, 5955 Rand Boulevard, Sarasota, Florida 34238, and the Animal Welfare League Inc., 3519 Drance Street, Port Charlotte, Florida.
