Raymond J. Healy, 79 of Port Charlotte, FL and formerly of Clayton, NY died unexpectedly Monday, December 10, 2007.
He was born June 3, 1928 in Cape Vincent, NY, son of John L. and Geraldine Pluche Healy.
Ray attended Syracuse University and earned his Bachelors and Masters Degrees from St. Lawrence University.
He served and was honorably discharged from the United States Air Force. Ray was a teacher, coach and athletic director. He was also employed by the US Immigration Service at the Thousand Island Bridge.
Ray is survived by his wife, JoAnn of Port Charlotte, FL; his children, Ann Healy-Dingman; Kathy Speno; Gerrie LaPlante; Sue Healy; John Healy; Patty Kendall all of NY; 15 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren, his step-children; Terry Marick; Cheryl Yamarino; Rick Knight; Pat Swejkowski; 11 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren, all of Michigan, and a sister, Agnes Rosengard of Tucson, AZ. He was predeceased by one sister, Mary LaFlamme.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at San Antonio Church in Port Charlotte on Tuesday, December 18th at 1:30 PM with a Memorial Gathering following at the Port Charlotte Village Hall.
