William Ernest Driggers

William Driggers, Sr William E. Driggers, Sr, 79, of Pt Charlotte, FL died December 17, 2007. He was born March 31, 1928 in Grove City, FL and lived in Punta Gorda all his life. William retired as a Master Sergeant for the United States Army, having served in both the Korean and Vietnam wars. For many years he worked as a commercial fisherman. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge #115, Punta Gorda, and was a Past Master for the lodge. He was a member of the American Legion Post 103. He is survived by his wife, Linda Barnett of Pt Charlotte, FL; children, Bruce Sharon Driggers of Cape Coral, FL; William Jackie Driggers, Jr of Old Town, FL; Clarence Buster Driggers of Punta Gorda, FL; Beth Wayne Hayden of Ft Ogden, FL and Brenda Al Ryan of Punta Gorda, FL; 15 grandchildren and 14.5 great grandchildren; brother, James Shirley Driggers of Pine Island, FL and sisters, Norma Jones, Betty Virgil Goff, Louise Lowe all of Punta Gorda and Dorcas Ray Addison of McMinnville, TN. He was pre deceased by his wife, Bonnie Driggers in 1988 and his sister Wanda Crafts. Punta Gorda, FL. Masonic Rites will be conducted at 7:00 pm. The Funeral Service will be at 10:00 am, Friday, December 21, 2007 at the funeral home with the Rev Neal Averitt officiating. Burial will follow at Indian Springs Cemetery with full military honors by American Legion Post 103.
