John Terry Reed

John Terry Reed, 68 of Port Charlotte, passed away on Saturday, May 10, 2008. John was born June 8, 1939 in Uvalde, Texas the son of the late John Tarpon Reed and Hattie Reed. John served in the US Navy in the submarine service, and worked for 32 years as a electrical test supervisor at Electric Boat in Groton, CT. He married his wife Madeline Rehbein over 46 years ago and the moved here in August of 1995 from Connecticut. He was a past member of the Horticultural Society of Charlotte County and the past treasurer of Port Charlotte Yacht Club. John is survived by: his wife, Madeline; his mother, Hattie; his daughter, Lori Ann Palmer Scott Michael of Higganum, CT.; his son, Daniel Charles Reed Doreen of Voluntown, CT; his grandchildren, Jamie, Melissa, Christine and Nathan; and his great grandchildren, Stephanie Lynn, Aiden and Anthony. A memorial service will be held on 3:30 PM, Tuesday, May 13, 2008 at the Kays-Ponger Funeral Home, Port Charlotte Chapel.
