He was born July 7, 1922 in Auburn, New Hampshire to Edward and Rodora Preston Newcomb. He moved to the Englewood area in 1972 from Tilton, New Hampshire. He was a machinist and mechanic for Englewood Boats and Motors. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Stella Newcomb; his children, Sandra Gary Earl of Englewood, William Denise Newcomb of Whitefield, New Hampshire and Jack Donna Newcomb of Englewood; his brother, Ken Newcomb of Englewood; his sisters, Dorothy Wiggin of Conway, New Hampshire, Evelyn Huckins of Boscawen, New Hampshire, Janet Corliss of East Andover, New Hampshire; 6 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. There will be a memorial service on Wednesday, July 2, 2008 at 2:00 P.M. at Lemon Bay Funeral Home Englewood Chapel.
