He was born August 10, 1920 in Moon Run, Pennsylvania to George and Ann Pierce Shaw. He was a longtime resident of Elizabeth, Pennsylvania before moving to the Englewood area in 1982. He was a Quality Control Inspector for Levinson Steel in Pittsburgh and he was veteran of WW II where he was a 1st Lieutenant in the Army Air Corps. He was a member of Englewood United Methodist Church and a longtime elder of the First Presbyterian Church of Elizabeth, Pennsylvania. William is survived by sons William E. Shaw of Helena, Alabama; Dennis G. Shaw of Englewood, FL.; Robert D. Shaw of Johnstown, PA.; James A. Shaw and Thomas L. Shaw both of Englewood, Florida; Six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife Laverne L. Shaw. A memorial service will be held on Sunday August 10, 2008 at 3:00 p.m. at the Doan Chapel at Englewood United Methodist Church.
