He was born May 30, 1922 in Quitman, Mississippi to Edward F. and Elizabeth Boles Grayson, Sr. He moved to the Englewood area in 1987 from Toomsuba, Mississippi. He was a retired Colonel in the United States Marine Corps and served in World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War. He received a Bronze Star, the Purple Heart and 2 Meritorious Service Awards from the Korean and Vietnam Wars. He was a member of the Park Forest Owners Association in Englewood, a life member of the Military Officers Association of America. He was a graduate of the University of Maryland and he received his Masters Degree from George Washington University. He is survived by his wife Shirley Grayson; his daughters, Denise Richard Liley of Lakewood, Colorado and Linda Richard Latona of Lakeland, Florida; 5 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his first wife Dorothy Grayson, his parents, his brother Roy Grayson, his sisters, Betty Estelle Lambo and Annie Mae Luke.
