Thomas A. Desio

Thomas A. Desio, 90, of Rotonda West died September 27, 2008. He was born August 24, 1918 in Brooklyn, New York to Anthony and Sarah Trafficante Desio. He moved to the Englewood area in 1972 from Brooklyn. He was a Mechanical Engineer Technician retired from the United States Navy. He was a member and usher at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, K. of C. Father Cottrell Council, former volunteer fireman and E.M.T. for Englewood Fire Department, Neighborhood Watch and Elks Lodge both of Rotonda and past Governor of the Moose Organization of Brooklyn. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Mollie; his daughter, Sara J. Herb Dalton of North Port; his son, Thomas J. Suzanne Desio of Englewood; his sisters, Joan Schoengold of Poway, California and Lillian Ieradi of Titusville, Florida; 6 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 to8:00 p.m. at Lemon Bay Funeral Home Englewood Chapel and the funeral Mass will be held Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi.
