Paul A. Deveny

Paul Andrew Deveny, 48 of Englewood, Florida was born November 14, 1963, left us peacefully in his sleep in the hours of May 3, 2012. A celebration of Paul's life will be held this Sunday, May 27 from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Indian Mound Park. The youngest in a family of 9 children, Paul moved to Florida from West Virginia when he was 14. Paul embraced Englewood from the moment he arrived. He was intelligent, loving, courageous and a loyal friend. Many Englewood residents knew Paul as a fisherman and a dog lover. It is less well known that he was a writer. A graduate of Venice High School, he was a voracious reader. Paul attended the inaugural meeting of the new Englewood Authors on April 12, and was ready and eager to participate in this group. He wrote his memoirs titled "From the Inside" in2003.
