Dever, Ann Morgan July 1, 1935 - October 5, 2009 Ann Dever, 74 of Placida, Florida, went home to be with her Lord on October 5, 2009. Ann and Charles Dever enjoyed nearly 50 years of marriage and bore two sons; Scott M. Dever and David S. Dever, both of Chicago. Ann is loved dearly by her 5 grand children; Charley 17, David "Bo" 16, Taylor 15, Morgan 14 and Jesse 11. Prior to moving to Placida in 1992, Ann spent 18 years in Midland, Michigan, where she held several local and state government positions. Over the past 16 years, Ann has made a significant contribution to the communities of Englewood and Charlotte County, Florida. Among her many roles, Ann served as President, Greater Englewood Big Brothers/ Big Sisters, Chairman, Charlotte County Parks and Recreation Advisory Board and Director, Placida Rotary Club. Ann was an avid fisherman and loved to spend time on her boat with her family and friends. She was active in the International Women's Fishing Association and won several awards. and as a radio host for WENG's "All About Women". Ann's final contribution came after her recent cancer diagnosis. Ann and a few close friends recognized the many needs of local, under-privileged school children. In response, they established Kids' Needs of Greater Englewood which serves the needs of local students. Ann's family will host a celebration of her life on Saturday, October 31, at Boca Grande United Methodist Church, 325 3rd Street, Boca Grande, FL.
