Joseph Gaza, 96, of Venice, FL passed away January 22, 2015. He was born May 13, 1918 in Canonsburg, PA. Joe graduated from Marcellus High School in New York and retired from Prestolite in Syracuse, NY where he worked as a machine repairman. He and his wife moved to Venice in 1976. Joe stayed busy by mowing lawns, working at Anderson Electric, the Elephants Trunk and volunteering for Venice Regional Hospital till his 95 th year. It wasn't uncommon to see him riding his blue motor scooter around the island of Venice, esp. the Golden Beach. The last of his kind, there are no more. The best husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, friend and mentor. He taught a good work ethic and he is greatly missed.
He is survived by his sons, David (Janet) Gaza and William (Sharon) Gaza both of Venice, FL; six granddaughters, and seven great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Aileen Gaza in 2008.
A Memorial Service will be held at a later date with inurnment to be at the Gulf Pines Memorial Park in Englewood.
