Reba Miller Pennypacker, age 87, passed peacefully Saturday, November 15, 2014 at home surrounded by her family.
Born in Huntington, WV, she is the daughter of the late Bertha Bash Miller and William Clendenon Miller.
Reba worked in banking and concluded her professional career in higher education. Some of her significant achievements include becoming the first women teller employed by the First National Bank of Newport News, Virginia, and serving as President of the world's 2nd largest Navy Wives Club at Naval Station Roosevelt Roads, Puerto Rico. But her greatest passions were being a wife, mother, grandmother and traveling the world with her beloved husband.
She was preceded in death by brothers Gorman Bash and James Miller. Reba is survived by her husband of 61 years, Granville Lee Pennypacker, Sr. aka "Penny" of Englewood, FL; 3 children: Peggy Mitchell (David) of Elkton, MD; Granville Pennypacker, Jr. (Joleen) of Chesapeake, VA; and Valerie P. Reyes (Jorge) of Bear, DE; 7 grandchildren: Edward Mitchell, Shannon Riley, Jay Reyes, Nikki Paynter, Daniel Reyes, Julianne Pennypacker and Jessica Mitchell.
