Pet Passings by Kays-Ponger & Uselton
Chip touched many lives. He laid next to my Mother while she had cancer not once, but twice. He jumped in the bed with her and was so gentle with her at the hospice where she passed. The following months, he kept me alive. Chip let me know he needed me at a time when I just wanted to lay in bed and hope the past was just a bad dream.
He was a survivor. When he was diagnosed with cancer in 2009 his chances were slim, but he beat it. After my mother was deceased I moved to FL with my pal Chip. He quickly gained love and respect from not only my Father but my Stepmother and neighbors. This respect and love wasn't gained by his size or strength, but for his compassion for people.
Living in South Florida, Chip saw more and more people suffering the same fate as my Mother. He had an amazing way of putting his head just where the disease was. It's a shame that block of a head couldn't cure it!
If I could produce the smiles Chip did in his lifetime, I'd be complete. [more]
