Ralph James Marzen, 53, of Hampton, Iowa, passed away Wednesday, January 25, 2017, at his home in Hampton, from complications of diabetes. He was born on February 21, 1963, in Charles City, Iowa, to Louis Marzen, Jr. and Erma (Van Lent) Marzen Zilly.
Ralph graduated from Hampton High School. He worked for Winnebago as an assembler and welder.
Ralph enjoyed golfing, fishing, gardening, and building rockets. He was an avid NASCAR fan and Minnesota Vikings fan.
Ralph is survived by his mother Erma (Edward) Zilly of Mason City, son Ethan Marzen of Latimer, step-daughter Jamie (CJ) Goltz of Klemme, step-daughter Kristi Bales of Mason City, grandchildren McKayla Drake, Dayton Drake, Isaac Goltz, Trevor Goltz, Brendon Goltz, Peyton Blackdeer and Braven Blackdeer, brother Lt. Col (R) Randall (Kari) Marzen of Cedar Rapids, sister Laura Wilkens of Des Moines, brother Daniel Marzen of Hampton, brother Dr. Luke Marzen of Auburn, Alabama, step-brother Paul Zilly of Trego, Wisconsin, step-sister Tracey Banks of Verona, Wisconsin, along with ten nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father Louis Marzen, Jr.
