Charlotte W. Klaus, 87, of Philadelphia, died Sunday, January 29, 2017, after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease.
Born in Philadelphia, PA, she was the daughter of the late Cloyde C. and Elizabeth M. Bender (nee Hellmuth). Mrs. Klaus was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 59 years, Edward, in December 2007.
She was a homemaker whose primary interest was her loved ones' happiness. She enjoyed all manner of needlework, was a gourmet cook, and entertained her family frequently, tirelessly and lavishly, and the uses of a drill, wrench, and hammer were not unknown to her! A woman of many talents and virtues, her favorite times were those spent at the beach in Avalon, where she and her husband truly created heaven on earth for their family and friends.
She was the devoted mother of Edward (Eileen) of Cheltenham, Dennis of West Norriton, and Carol (Jerry) Gallagher of Bryn Mawr. She was the loving grandmother of Justin (Chelsea Pearce), Gabrielle (John Wagner), Alexandra (Kyle) Pixton, Jerry Gallagher Jr., and Elizabeth (Brian) Cleary, and the cherished great-grandmother of Madison, Brayden, and Lucy.
Funeral services will be held privately.
