Mr. Fergus Loraine Phillips, 91, of Seymour, and formerly of Toledo, OH, passed away on February 9, 2017. He was born October 21, 1935 in Medora to Murrell and Lillian (Durham) Phillips. He served in the U.S. Navy as a radioman in WW II. He retired from General Motors after 35 years of faithful service.
On April 19, 1948 he married Betty Hively in Toledo, OH and she preceded him in death.
Fergus enjoyed gardening, he bowled in multiple leagues, played cards with his buddies, and most importantly loved being with his family. He was a member of the American Legion of Brownstown.
He was preceded in death by his: parents, wife of 60 years, Betty, 5 brothers and 6 sisters.
He is survived by his children: Nancy Spangler, Melvin Phillips, and Linda Sheppard, His grandchildren: Kelly (Don) Kendall, Jeff Sprague, Kevin Sprague, Stephanie Kosakowski, and Jenifer Sheppard, and great grand children: Elasha (Brandon) Kepple, Garik Fleetwood, Brittney Sprague, Keaton Sprague, Cody Kosakowski, and Ayden Sheppard.
A life memorial service will be announced at a later date through the Voss & Sons Funeral Service.
