lic War Veterans during bingo nights. She also attended Besos y Caricias Adult Day Care Center in Weslaco. Janie was a huge fan of Laura Canales. Every Saturday she would wake her kids up, turn off the television, put on some Laura Canales and turn the radio up full blast while she cleaned. You always had a place to stay with Janie. Whether it was close relatives or her children's friends, there was always an extra room and a hot meal for you. She was everybody's mom. She loved her family and she loved get togethers. Her favorite holiday was Christmas. Every year, the family would gather at her house for a gift exchange and a BBQ. When it was time, all of the grandkids would sit around the Christmas tree anxiously waiting to be handed their presents. Her joy was watching their faces light up as they tore open their gifts. Janie will be remembered for her faith and the unconditional love she had for her family. She was a very private person but she always protected her children no matter what. She tried to instill in them the importance of unity, love and to always have faith in God in every situation. That no matter what obstacles crossed our paths, to always pray to God and He would get us through it. She was greeted in Heaven by her parents; 3 grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Along with her loving husband, Ruben, her children and their spouses, Janie will also be missed by 30 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and her sisters and brothers. Her Journey's Just Begun Don't think of her as gone away, her journey's just begun Life holds so many facets, this Earth is only one. Just think of her as resting from the sorrows and the tears In a place of warmth and comfort where there are no days or years. Think how she must be wishing that we could know today How nothing but our sadness can really pass away. And think of her as living in the hearts of those she touched For nothing loved is ever lost and she was loved so much. - Unknown No services are scheduled at this time.
