Mable L. Wise

Mable "Corky" Wise, 84 of Ft. Madison, Iowa, formerly of Keokuk, passed away on Sunday, February 26, 2017, at her home. Corky was born on October 8, 1932, to Samuel and Madeline Scott in Keokuk, Iowa. On January 25, 1952, she was united in marriage to Glenn "Jake" Wise. He preceded her in death on August 23, 2007. She attended Harvest Bible Fellowship in Fort Madison, Iowa. Corky enjoyed SYFY and scary movies, UFC fights, and watching birds, especially her hummingbirds. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. Corky is survived by two sons: David (Lois) Wise of North Manchester, Indiana; and Dennis (Jennifer) Wise of Keokuk; two daughters: Tamie Shepard of Fort Madison, Iowa; and Lisa (Mike) Washburn of Lake Ozark, Missouri; grandchildren: Heather Wise, Tanny Wise, Jacob Wise, Alexandra Shepard, Michael Wise, Seth Wise, Gabe Wise, Kiya Wise; twelve great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Corky was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, one grandson, and several nieces and nephews. ith Pastor Jon Heyland officiating. Burial will follow at Keokuk National Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, February 28, from 3 to 7 PM, with family meeting friends from 5 to 7 PM. A dinner at Harvest Bible Fellowship will be provided after the service. Memorials may be directed to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Great River Hospice.
