Dorothy Mae Knipfel, 87, of Hampton, Iowa, passed away Friday, March 3, 2017, at her home in Hampton, Iowa. She was born December 15, 1929, in Oskaloosa, Iowa, to Frank and Maude (Davidson) Ademite. She lived in Oskaloosa for five years, her and her sibling were removed from the home and taken to the Iowa Soldier Home in Council Bluffs, living there for approximately six years. Then she moved to the Annie Whitmeyer Home in Davenport, Iowa. She married Raymond Knipfel on September 18, 1947, at St. John's United Church of Christ in Ackley, Iowa, they farmed and raised a family in Hampton. She enjoyed kids, grandkids, sewing, gardening, cooking and if you walked away from Ray and her table hungry it was your own fault. Dorothy is survived by her daughter JoAnn Young of Hansell, daughter Rosy (Terry) Hamm of Hampton, daughter LaVonne "Pickle" Wilson of Sheffield, son Willie (Nancy) Knipfel of Hampton, sister Cathy Boll of Oskaloosa, brother Frank E.
