a very active past member in Trinity Lutheran Church in Martinsburg, holding various positions over the years. He was also a member of the Civil Air Patrol and Gun Owners of America. He was an avid hunter and gun enthusiast and had a great passion for aviation. Survivors include his wife, Cherie Schultz of Dakota City, NE; a son, Tyler King of Ponca, NE; step- children, Dawn (Brian) Borchers of Sioux City, IA and BJ (Stefanie) Verzani of Ponca, NE; granddaughter, Brooklynn King; step-grandchildren, Lauren and Tyler Borchers, Brantley and Averie Verzani; step great-granddaughter, Aria Scofield; sister, Karen (Don) Helberg of Scottsbluff, NE; step-siblings, Cindy (Lee) Ford, Jean Orr, Ken (Laura) Bruggeman, Jim Bruggeman (Penny Rosfjord), Jenny Bruggeman; step brother-in-law, Randy McDonald; and mother-in-law, Annabelle Haahr. He was preceded in death by his parents, Willis and Arlene Schultz; step-mother, Gloria Schultz; step-sister, Kathy McDonald; and father-in-law, Wendell Haahr.
