Doris Lee Powers

Doris Lee Maloy Powers, 87, of Hollywood, Florida passed away Monday, March 13, 2017 at the home of her son, Daniel Powers. Doris Lee Maloy was born March 3, 1930 in Chicago, Illinois, daughter of Murrel and Emily Maloy. Doris began her working days as a "pinner" in the couture department of the Morris B. Sachs department store in Chicago. It was at Morris B. Sachs that Doris met her husband James Powers, who worked in the Men's Suits department. Doris and Jim married September 10, 1955 and they were married for 59 years until Jim's passing in 2015. Doris is preceded in death by husband James, and son Patrick. She is survived by her daughter Sally Klopfenstein (Daniel) of Oviedo, Florida and son Daniel of Hollywood, Florida; Granddaughter Dr. Holly Martin (Christopher) of Tallahassee, Florida; brother Donald Maloy of Hollywood, Florida. The family will receive friends on Friday, March 17, 2017 from 11:30-12:00 at Fred Hunter Funeral Home 6301 Taft Street, Hollywood, Florida.
