rawberries, raspberries, and vegetables most days. Chickens were a priority and she was very careful about who she let pick the eggs. She was known to throw a 5 gallon pail better than anyone when she got mad. As they grew older, Elmer and Regina, spent lots of time together. He’d bring fish for her to cook and then they’d play 500. She had dearly loved dogs over the years who gave her lots of comfort and companionship. She liked reciting all their names to her great-grandsons. In her later years, she stayed busy playing cards, completing word search books, baking, and making her favorite kitchen scratchers. She was a long-time member of Thompson United Methodist Church. She served at the church especially with UMW. She looked forward to faithfully working the church stand at the fair every summer. Regina departed from this life on Saturday, October 2, 2010 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester, MN. She is survived by her son Douglas of Rake and friend Colleen Elwood; 2 granddaughters: Pamela and her husband Dr. David Eaton of Long Grove, IA; Julie and her husband Darrin Jensen of Elmore, MN; 5 great grandsons: Wyatt and Cordell Eaton; Derek, Drew and Luke Jensen; and by many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 1993, daughter-in-law Grace Danger; brothers: Charles, Albert, Frank Jr.,Kenneth, and Elmer Rhubee; and sisters Emma Smouse, Julia Langerman, Carrie Severtson, Tillie Curtis-Perry and Rose Bohl. Her favorite pastime was playing cards with family and friends. She always felt extremely blessed to be able to play games and put puzzles together with her great grandsons.
