Victor Larson

Victor Larson, age 76, of Thompson, IA died on Wednesday November 19, 2008, at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, MN. Funeral Services were held at 1:30 PM Monday at Bethany Lutheran Church in Thompson with Rev. Mark Decker. Burial followed at Rose Hill Cemetery in Thompson. Visitation was Sunday from 4 to 6 PM at Winter Funeral Home in Thompson and 1 hour before the service at church. Victor Keith Larson, the son of Levi and Dena (Branstad) Larson was born outside of Leland, IA on May 30, 1932. He attended school in Leland and Thompson and graduated from Thompson High School in 1950. On September 27, 1953, he married Maxine Adel Johnston in Mapleton, MN. They spent their 55 years of marriage living in Thompson. Vic worked for Mechem Implements in his early years. He owned and operated the Standard Station in Thompson for awhile before working as a mechanic for Thompson Community School and Winnebago County and later at Winnebago Industries at Forest City. After retiring, he enjoyed his job at Bethany Lutheran Church, reading, doing puzzles, and spending time with his family and grandchildren.
