n order....she loved baseball, everything about baseball and knew the game better than most. Lucille didn't care whether she watched little league, international, college or professional baseball, she just loved watching it played. Lucille loved humor, whether it was satire or just honest fun, she enjoyed laughing. Lucille would enjoy telling a good joke or listening to a good joke and then give that little side smile and look that told you she probably already figured out the punch line. Lucille loved her Dad, who died way too early in her life but she always credited him for her outlook on life. She also admired him for teaching her to wait and allow people the chance to define themselves before determining judgment. Lucille especially loved her husband Curt with all her heart. She loved her family and both Lucille and Curt tried very hard to show no partiality. Lucille loved each one the same and respected their individualities and saw each one as displaying unique and special talents. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and a good friend to all who knew and loved her. Lucille and Curt were married nearly 60 years when Curt passed away on June 24, 2002. In September 2013, Lucille moved to live At Risen Son Christian Village in Council Bluffs, Iowa. She passed away there on March 28, 2017 at the age of 92 years, 7 months, and 23 days. In addition to her beloved husband Curt, she was also preceded in death by her parents, Art and Anna Pierce; son Larry Taylor; son-in-law Robert Barham; infant brothers, Vernon and Donald Pierce: infant sisters, Mary Ann and Martha Pierce; brother Arthur Pierce, who was killed in action in 1950 while serving in the United States Navy; sister Viola Hartley and husband Adris; and nephew Darrel Hartley.
