Teresa Anne Johnston born July 26th, 1965 in Jacksonville, Florida entered into peaceful sleep on April 5th, 2017 in Sioux City, Iowa.
Teresa was a longtime resident of the Shenandoah area. She served as the mayor of Blanchard and on the volunteer fire department for many years. Teresa was loved by all while she and Merlin owned the Coin Cafe. Biscuits and gravy were the locals favorite and a family favorite too!
Teresa started her life as a farm wife in 1998 when the family moved to the farm in Shenandoah. Her talents were not limited to the kitchen though! She ran the combine alongside Merlin, climbed in the bin to run the sweep auger and kept up toe-to-toe.
Teresa spent her time enjoying mushroom hunting, mowing the yard and riding the 4-wheeler. Her grandchildren were the light of her life and never missed an opportunity to be with them.
Teresa was preceded in death by her father Jim Kerns; brothers Robert (Pete) Kerns, Jimmie D Kerns JR; Grandparents; In-laws Art & LaVaun Johnston.
Teresa is survived by her husband of 26 years, Merlin; children, Michael, Tiffany, Joe, Alan and Brandi; 9 grandchildren; mother Sue Kerns; brother Billy Kerns and sister Suzanne Smith; ...[more]

Memorial Gathering will be held 4:00 pm, Sunday, April 9, 2017 at The Depot ~ 101 N. Railroad St. ~ Shenandoah, Iowa.
