DeForest – Patricia C. Spahn, age 77, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family, on Friday, April 14, 2017. She was born in Sun Prairie on April 26, 1939, the daughter of Albin and Dorothy (Meffert) Ziegler.
Pat will be remembered as a loving and giving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her family was everything to her, and she was everything to her family. She met the love of her life at Schmitty’s Dance Hall and married Lawrence “Lornie” on March 1, 1960. Together they began their journey of 57 years, working and enjoying life together. Her children and grandchildren were central in her life. It gave her great joy to spend time with family and she loved family gatherings. Kids and grandkids looked forward to receiving her special treat bags for Easter and Halloween as well as a hand-made ornament each Christmas. Cooking and baking were her passions. It was Pat’s tradition to give one of her famous coffee cakes to loved ones for birthdays and holidays.

r gardens. Pat was artistic and creative, and that showed through her business of 40 plus years, Pat’s Truck and Sign Lettering. She surrounded herself with a large circle of close family and friends and enjoyed playing cards, bowling with the girls, and spending time with the Lunch Bunch. She enjoyed polka dances, and even played the accordion. Pat was an active member of St. Olaf’s Catholic Church and St. Ann’s CCW and helped to serve countless meals for events at St. Olaf’s Church. She was a charter member of the Golden Triangle Drifters Snowmobile Club where she served as Treasurer and Secretary.
Pat is survived by her husband, Lornie; children, Debbie (Dave) Wolff, Steven (Linda) Spahn and Michael (Kathy) Spahn; daughter-in-law, Carol Spahn; grandchildren, Chrissy (Alan) Clemens, Jon (Kayla) Wolff, Kalyn (James) Moodie, Danielle Spahn (Joe Kelly), Ryan Spahn, Marissa Spahn, Josh Spahn, Joey Spahn and Matthew Spahn; great grandchildren, Colton and Kaia Clemens; sister, Charlene Hellenbrand; and brother, Fred (Shirley) Ziegler. Pat is further survived by her brothers-in-law, Dave (Lois) Spahn and Leroy Adler, and sisters-in-law, Janet Uebersetzig, Bonnie (Paul) Schmidt and Mary (Ed) Armbricht.
She is preceded in death by her son, Ron, her parents, her sister, Virginia Adler, parents-in-law, Lawrence and Catherine, and brother-in-law, Ed Hellenbrand.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at ST. OLAF CATHOLIC CHURCH, 623 Jefferson Street, DeForest with Father Vincent Brewer officiating. A visitation will be held from 4 – 7 p.m. on Tuesday, April 18th at the Church, and from 10 a.m. until the time of Mass on Wednesday at Church. Burial at St. Olaf Catholic Cemetery.
