Layne Edward Keys "Chubby" departed his life on Sunday, March 14, 2010, at his home in Palmetto, Georgia, after a short illness. Born January 28, 1954, to the late Virginia J. Keys and Junior Edward Thomas and a Loving Step Mother, Mary Thomas of Bassett, Virginia.
He received Associates and Masters Degrees in Cosmetology and practiced for 30 years. In addition, he received a degree in Accounting from Richmond, Virginia. Edward was also an ordained minister.
He is preceded in death by his mother; Virginia J. Keys, sister; Doris L. King, maternal grandparents; Dollie B. Cole and William A. Cole, paternal grandparents; Ophus Thomas and Izetta Thomas.
Edward is survived by his Loving and Dedicated wife; Elizabeth Long Keys, two sons; Isaac L. Finney of Martinsville, VA, and Tony Long of the home, three daughters; Angelica Keys and Emmani Keys of Atlanta, GA, and Courtney Long of the home, one god-child; Elisha (LiLi) Eggleston of Atlanta, GA, two sisters; Wanda M.
