Josephine Jeane Grady

Josephine ''Jeane'' (Munchrath) Grady, born January 11, 1913 went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, April 14 2012. Jeane, a woman of great faith, had resided at The Thompson House in Rhinebeck. She was born January 11, 1913 in The Bronx, to the late Martin and the late Mildred (Herzberg) Munchrath. During her growing up years she came to Rifton and fell in love with this village. After marriage to John Grady on October 13, 1935 they made their home and life there, active in community and church affairs. John passed away on September 5th 1995. Jeane continued to live in the family home and was a resident of Rifton for 73 years, enjoying friends and neighbors and life in this small community. Among the many work experiences that Jeane had, her favorite remained having been a unit clerk on the obstetrics/gynecology floor of the Benedictine Hospital in Kingston, NY. She was a member of Port Ewen Senior Citizens, Rifton Fire Auxiliary and Rifton Methodist Church. After the closing of the local church she became a member of the Tillson Community Church. The procession will form on Tuesday at 1 PM at the funeral home and proceed to Grace Community Church, 160 Seremma Ct, Lake Katrine, where at 2 PM the funeral service will be held. Burial will follow in Rosendale Plains Cemetery, Rosendale.
