William Robert Hutton

William Robert Hutton, 67, of Saugerties, passed away at Geer Nursing and Rehabilitation in Canaan, CT after a long and courageous fight against Alzheimer's disease. Born on September 23, 1944 in Kingston, NY, he was the son of the late William J. and Dorothy Hutton. Bill graduated from Kingston High School in 1962 and continued his education at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, receiving a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering in 1966. A member of the Theta Xi fraternity, he furthered his education at Rensselaer by receiving a Master of Science in Management Engineering in 1967. Later that year, he started his career with IBM Kingston and ultimately ended up as a senior manager, retiring in 1999 after 32 years of service. He was also a part-time Town of Hurley constable (1971-1976) which he loved. Bill is survived by his wife Virginia (Light) of Saugerties. He is also survived by daughter Kimberly Hoover and her husband Theodore of Gardiner; daughter Jennifer Ortiz and her husband Ricardo of Goshen, CT; beloved granddaughter Aidan Hoover of Gardiner; sister Nancy Conyers and her husband William of St. Augustine, FL as well as a niece and three nephews.
