Anthony John Petrelli

Anthony John Petrelli, 97, of Davie, Florida, passed away peacefully at his home with his loved ones by his side. Born in New York, New York on April 7, 1920, son of John and Rose Trengelentta Petrelli. He and his family moved to Brooklyn where he was raised and educated. Anthony enlisted into the United States Army during WWII and served his county proudly in the 11th Armored Division with Patton's 3rd Army. Attaining the rank of Sargent, he fought bravely during the Battle of the Bulge. Before the war ended, he also helped liberate three concentration camps. Following the war, Tony went to work as a truck driver for Obes Trucking Company in New York, where he worked for nearly 40 years before his retirement in 1980. He was a member of the local 814 Teamsters Union. Following his retirement, he and his wife moved to South Florida, settling in Davie, where he remained up until his death. He was an avid fisherman, enjoyed camping and crabbing. Most of all he enjoyed and adored his three grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, May 1st at 10 a.m. at St. David Catholic Church, 3900 South University Drive, Davie. Entombment will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery South with Military Honors.
