RONALD STYCH MUSCATINE, Iowa - Ronald R "Ron" Stych 71, of Muscatine, passed away on Thursday, April 27, 2017, Mercy Hospital in Iowa City. A Private Service will be held. A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held from 4:00 p. m. to 7:00 p. m. Monday, May 1, 2017, at the Iowa National Guard Armory, 5901 US Highway 61. Memorials may be made to the Muscatine Humane Society. Online condolences: www.wittichfuneralhome.com Ron was born on November 9, 1945, in Iowa City, the son of George A. and Alice Bekker Stych. He was first married to Diane Coder. They divorced and he then married Margaret Ahlf Irwin on September 24, 1993. He was a master craftsman. He loved working with and creating wood projects. His knowledge and expertise with wood will be missed by everyone who came in contact with him. He loved to teach family and friends how to use their skills to create something they could be proud to have made. He enjoyed NHRA drag racing. appy and content when he was working in his garage and whistling. He always had time for family and friends when they stopped by the house and garage and shared a beer with him. He sang with the Elks Chanters. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam era. Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Margaret and their blended family; Amy Stych Lenz (Doug), David Stych, Laura Schroeder (Tim), Christine Borich (Tom), Matthew Irwin (Kelly). He has 12 grandchildren that he loved and was so proud of all their accomplishments; Bart, Kat, Jacob, Tyler, Carson, Noah, Madelyn, Blake, Courtney, Haleigh, PJ, and Molly. He has three great grandchildren, Asher, Rowan, and Finn. He is also survived by his siblings Paul Stych , Jeanette Phillips, Maynard Stych, Keith Stych, Donna Connissbee, Rosemary Hollatz, Nancy Young, and Ken Stych, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers George B. Stych and Wayne Stych; and one sister Rita Phelps.
