olved in vestry and was a Senior Warden for many years. He was also on the library board, First National Bank board, preceptor for the University of Minnesota, past president of Southwestern Minnesota Medical School, as well as several other boards and activities. He received the Mayor's Medal of Honor in 2006 for human services. Jim was a talented woodworker and also a wonderful cook. He treasured many years of duck hunting with family and friends at Pin Tail Point. He had a passion for American History and the practice of medicine. He loved spending time with his family and grandchildren. In recent years, he especially enjoyed reading to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is survived by three children, Paul Dokken and his wife, Rene, of Harrisburg, SD; Ann Meier of Sioux Falls, SD; and Mary Norland and her husband, Larry, of Zimmerman; seven grandchildren, Gretchen Sterling, Heidi Bandy, Ben Staerk, Jake Meier, Leah Lair, Greg Meier and Samuel Norland; seven great-grandchildren; two brothers, Kayo Dokken and his wife, Bunca, of Vancouver, WA and Ralph Dokken and his wife, Darlene, of Denver, CO; one sister, Nancy Mills of Charleston, SC; and several other relatives and friends. Jim was preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Jane. Blessed be the memory of Dr. Jim Dokken.
