Roger C. Clemen, 80, of Dubuque, Iowa passed away on Wednesday, May 3rd, 2017 at home.
Family and friends may visit from 10:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday, May 6th, 2017 at Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory, 2595 Rockdale Road where services will be held at 1:30 p.m. with Deacon John Stierman officiating. Burial will follow in Dubuque Memorial Gardens with military honors by American Legion post #6.
Roger was born on April 1, 1937 in Bernard, Iowa the son of Chris and Matilda (Hennon) Clemen. He attended Epworth and Manchester Schools and married Karolyn Hansen on April 5, 1960 in Manchester.
pan style="font-family:times new roman,times,serif;">He served in the United States Navy from 1955 to 1959; was a member of the Amvets, American Legion Post #6 and Teamsters Union #421. Roger worked for Heitzman Construction Company, FDL and Selco.
Roger enjoyed his time spent with friends for their daily breakfast and coffee and then lunch at Paul’s. He enjoyed animals, was an avid NASCAR racing fan but most of all loved his time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife Karolyn; children, Mike (Kim) Clemen, Rod (Donna) Clemen, Greg (Karen) Clemen, Steve (Candy) Clemen, Darla (Dave) Goedert, and Earl Clemen. 13 grandchildren, 2 step grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and 4 step great grandchildren. A brother Earl Clemen and a sister Eileen Frey.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister Mildred (Russel) Reed; sister-in-law Aileen Clemen; and brother-in-law Marvin Frey.
