Jerry Bowles
Madison - Gerald P. "Jerry" Bowles, age 57, ended his hard fought battle with cancer and was born to eternal life on April 23, 2017 at Agrace HospiceCare in Fitchburg, WI. He was born in Lebanon, MO on October 8, 1959.
Jerry is preceded in death by his mother Sylvia Bowles, father-in-law Ralph Sell, Jr. and sister-in-law Diane (Rufo) Bowles. He is survived by his wife, Erin (Sell) Bowles; son, Patrick Bowles (Raya Sohn); father, James Bowles; mother-in-law, Ashlee Sell; brothers and sisters, Debbie (Hector) Castro, Kathryn (Dave) Luithle, David Bowles, Robert (Kazuko) Bowles, Elizabeth Bowles (Dee Jackson), Linda (Marcelo) DaSilva, Laura Bowles (Rob Reilly), Paul (Kathleen) Sell, Eric Sell (Cindi Stroud), and Carolyn (Joe) Lohr; as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.
Jerry grew up loving God, his family, friends, sports, and music, becoming an accomplished athlete and musician. Jerry graduated from Marquette University in 1982 where he met his wife Erin singing in the MU choir. on moving to Madison Jerry continued to share his love of music by singing at both St. Peter Catholic Church in Madison and St. Olaf Catholic Church in DeForest.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, May 12, 2017 at St. Peter, 5001 N. Sherman Ave, Madison with Monsignor Charles Schluter officiating. Visitation will be held from 4:30 - 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 11th at RYAN FUNERAL HOME, 2418 N. Sherman Ave., Madison and again from 9:30 a.m. until the time of Mass at Church on Friday. Burial will be held at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Menasha, WI following the funeral. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established and donations will be made to organizations dear to Jerry’s heart.
