Elsie M. Hansen

Elsie M. Hansen, 98, of South Sioux City, NE, died Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at Regency Square in South Sioux City. Funeral services will be 10:30am Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at First Lutheran Church in South Sioux City. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 5:00pm to 7:00pm Monday, May 15, 2017 at Mohr Funeral Home in South Sioux City. Elsie was born October 26, 1918 at Platte Center, Nebraska the daughter of Julius and Clara (Breize) Gerling. She grew up and attended school near Norfolk, Nebraska. Elsie was united in marriage to Kenneth R. Hansen July 17, 1938. Together they farmed near Waterbury, NE. They retired in 1972 and moved to South Sioux City. Kenneth died in July of 2004. Elsie loved spending time with her family and getting pictures from them. She also enjoyed cooking, playing bingo and gardening. Survivors include 2 daughters, Sharon Hansen of Phoenix, Arizona and Karen Kreamer of Miami, Florida; 5 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild.
