m north of Calamus and then farmed in the Elwood area until 1958. He then moved to Welton where he farmed and worked as a district sales manager for Trojan Seed Company until moving to Maquoketa in 1973. He continued selling seed corn until retirement in 1980. He moved to Clover Ridge Place in 2011. LeRoy was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Maquoketa, the Toastmaster's in DeWitt and was a Mason. Those left to honor LeRoy's memory include his children, Alan (Carolyn) Stampe of Wallace, NC, and Jane (Susan Cremer) Stampe of Edwards, CO; a son-in-law, David Hoeppner of Houston, TX; 4 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, 6 brothers Herbert, Adolph, Fred, Peter, Virtus and Marvin, 2 sisters Louise Black and Gladys Martin, and a daughter Sandra Hoeppner.
