Lois L. Nelson, 88, of Fort Dodge passed away Monday, May 22, 2017 at the Simpson Health Center Friendship Haven.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 14, 2017 at Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home. A visitation will be 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Lois is survived by her children, Rose Sielaff of Webster City; Marlinda (Rick) Muterspaugh of Sacramento, CA; Kevin Naeve of Fort Dodge; Jason (Krissan) Nelson of Otho; step-children, Marsha (John) Samuelson of Gowrie; Marilyn (Stan) Berns of Carroll; Rick (Carla) Nelson of Otho; thirteen grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and brother, William Hastings.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Helen (Sittler) Hastings; husband, Frank; sisters, Sister Mary Gerald Hastings; Catherine Butler; Jean Hudson; and granddaughter, Melanie Muterspaugh.
Lois L. Hastings was born July 20, 1928 in Livermore. She was raised in Livermore and graduated from Bode High School in 1946. She attended Hamilton Business School for a year. lished their home on a farm near Otho. In 1993, the couple moved into the town of Otho, Lois was a member of Otho United Methodist Church and the Otho Betterment Group.
