Robert Arthur Jones, Jr., 61, of Montrose, Iowa, passed away at 1:10 AM Monday, May 22, 2017, at Great River Hospice House in Burlington, Iowa.
Robert was born June 23, 1955, at Mercy Hospital in Burlington, Iowa, the son of Robert A. Sr. and Dorothy Irene Sporer-Wellman Jones. He lived all his life in the Ft. Madison and Keokuk area and graduated from Ft. Madison High School. He worked for the cities of Ft. Madison and Burlington and at various jobs in the area.
He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Montrose, Iowa. He enjoyed making and collecting Native American crafts and was a former member of the Standing Bear Council. He loved music, singing Karaoke, and singers Ozzie Osborn and Alice Cooper. He enjoyed All Star Wresting and met several of the wrestlers.
He is survived by his mother, Dorothy "Irene" Jones of Fort Madison; special companion, Peggy Jamison of Montrose; and two uncles, three aunts, and several cousins. He was preceded in death by his father.
A Celebration of his Life will be at 11:00 AM Saturday, May 27, 2017, at DeJong-Greaves Celebration of Life Center at 917 Blondeau Street in Keokuk. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery in Keokuk. Visita...[more]
