Alice Frances Thatcher 88, Carmel, passed away Wednesday, May 24, 2017. She was born January 3, 1929 in Indianapolis to the late Atanas and Frances (Ivancic) Dafoff. Alice grew up in the Haughville area where she attended George Washington High School. She continued her education at Indiana University, Bloomington and the Coburn School, New York City.
Alice worked for Bestfoods-Corn Products, Eli Lilly and Company, and Ransburg Corporation where she met her beloved husband. In 1970, Charles and Alice moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma to start an electrostatic equipment manufacturing company together, relocating back to Indianapolis in 1978. They were married for 42 years, enjoying work, travel, and antiques collecting. Alice was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was preceded in death by husband Charles Robert Thatcher; survived by daughter Amy Thatcher (Paul VanOrshoven); and granddaughter Leeann.
