ok care of the flowers for the St. Johns church altars for many years. She was a member of the St. Johns Altar Society and the Catholic Daughters. For several years she was the kazoo player in the Kitchen Klatter Band, which performed all around the state of Iowa, including many parades, and fairs, one of the bands greatest moments was preforming at the Iowa State Fair. Sylvia Blocker of Bancroft, died with her husband and family by her side on Saturday, May 27,2017, at the Hawkeye Care Center, Bancroft, Iowa, at the age of 90. She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Ed Blocker of Bancroft, IA; children, David (Rita) Blocker of Mohall, ND, Jim (Omie) Blocker of Saratoga, WY, Allan (Candace) Blocker of Sheldon, IA, Richard (Teresa) Blocker of Algona, IA, Joseph (Gail) Blocker of Hartford, SD, Phillip (Bobie) Blocker, Bancroft, IA, Carol (Steve) Shillington, Bancroft, IA, Ronald Blocker and his fiancé, Paula of Bancroft, IA, and Mark (Kathy) Blocker of Bancroft, IA; twenty nine grandchildren; twenty six great-grandchildren; sister Angie Dummitt; sister-in laws, Sally Klein, Margie Klein and Georgia Klein; as well as many other extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter; Donna Saline in 2008; grandson Matthew Blocker; granddaughters Sara Blocker and Ryane Blocker; great-granddaughter Penelope Lawrence; brothers, Edwin, Andrew, twin brother Sylvester, Leo, Louis, Richard, and Marvin; sister Christina Houwen; sister-in-law, Joan Klein; and brothers-in law, Bill Dummitt and Bill Houwen.
